I can receive but I cannot send out emails
Solution
If you are experiencing a problem in which you are
able to receive emails but are unable to send out any emails
, it is very likely that your email application does not have the SMTP Outgoing Authentication option enabled. Detailed in this article are the steps that you can take to verify that you have this option enabled in your email client.
Microsoft Outlook 2003/2007
Step 1:
Select
Tools
from the Command Bar.
Step 2:
Select
Account Settings
.
Step 3:
Select on the affected
Email Account
and click on the
Change
button.
Step 4:
Click on the
More Settings
button.
Step 5:
Verify that the
My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
option is enabled as shown here.
Mozilla Thunderbird
Step 1:
Select
Tools
Step 2
: select
Account Settings
Step 3:
Select
Outgoing Server (SMTP)
and the
Account Profile
that you need to edit.
Step 4:
Ensure that your email address is correctly written in the
User Name
field.
