Watch Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Thoughtful Response When a 6-Year-Old Boy Asks the ‘Meaning of Life’

When famous astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson was giving a talk in Boston, a boy of six years (and three quarters) named Jack approached and asked him the most thought-provoking question known to mankind: “What is the meaning of life?” His wise response is nothing short of amazing and something we all can relate to, regardless if you’re 6 or 60.

He added that, “when I think of the meaning of life, I ask, ‘Have I learned something today that I didn’t know yesterday?’ Bringing me a little closer to knowing all that can be known in the universe. Just a little closer, however far away all the knowledge sits. If I lived a day and I don’t know a little more that day than the day before, I think I wasted that day.”

So take it from the expert himself. Stop stressing yourself out about your whole existence and go, learn something meaningful today, everyday.
