Tesla recalls 90,000 cars over seat belts

Tesla Motors, Inc, makers of luxury electric vehicle recalls 90,000 Model S line of cars in Europe because its front seat belts were reportedly not connected properly.  An email sent from their company to their customers confirmed that while there  were no injuries or accidents involved, a seat belt in this condition will not provide ample support and protection. Because of this, their shares fell 1.9% to $217.59.

Mozilla: We’re not getting money from Google any more but we’re doing fine

For the past years, Mozilla has a generated sizable income from sponsored deals with Google for having the them as the default search engine on its Firefox browser. The deal ended last year and now Firefox has gone back to using Yahoo for US, Baidu in China and Yandex in Russia.

Although Mozilla no longer has a commercial partnership with Google since 2014, Chief Financial Officer Jim Cook is confident that their 2015 financial performance will be better due to a string of great search deal partnerships. Firefox has seen struggling with moving its browsers from desktops.  Their smartphone operating system, the Firefox OS was was aimed for smartphone users in developing markets as well as embedded markets like the smart TV.

 

Apple Pay is coming to China in early 2016

After sealing a successful partnership deal with four major banks in China, Apple will be launching Apple Pay in China early next year. Apple Pay enables its users to make retail payments  using their Apple device like the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. The main focus for their payment is to create a new avenue where they can embed their products to their consumers.

Apple Pay is already a year older in the US but most its consumers have not warmed it to it simply because most Americans who are used to plastic cards find it rather strange to use as a payment replacement. However, in China, there were 2.28 billion mobile payments recorded made in the second quarter of this year which is a 41% increase from 2014. Iphone sales in China alone have almost doubled, driving one of the biggest revenue for Apple.
