Email Errors - Full Mailbox

A full mailbox is one of the most common email issues. Each email account has a storage limit on the server. When the limit is reached, new incoming emails cannot be delivered, and the sender may receive a bounce-back message indicating that the mailbox is full.

Examples of Full Mailbox messages:

SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<[email protected]>: 452 <[email protected]> Mailbox size limit exceeded

<[email protected]>: User is over the quota. You can try again later.

<[email protected]>: host in7.example.com said: 552 <[email protected]>… Mailbox is full

Mailbox limit exceeded while appending message 550 <[email protected]>… Can’t create output

<[email protected]>: host mail9.example.com said: 552 Requested mail action aborted: exceeded storage allocation

If you encounter this error, contact the recipient through another method to inform them.

If your mailbox is full, delete unwanted emails or follow the guide on how to change mailbox quota.
