How to Enable/Disable Domain Privacy

Enabling the Domain Privacy can help you prevent spammersidentity thieves, and hackers from accessing your personal information. In contrast, disabling the Domain Privacy should be done with caution, as your personal information will be available to the public.

In this article, you will learn how to enable and disable the Domain Privacy

Enable Domain Privacy

Note: Enabling the Domain Privacy is only available for domain names registered with Vodien. If you wish to get Domain Privacy of a domain name not registered with Vodien, you will need to transfer the domain name to Vodien first, learn more here.

Here are the steps on how to enable Domain Privacy for your domain:

  1. Visit the Vodien SG or AU website.
  2. Click My Account at the top of the page.
  3. Ensure that Account Manager is selected from the drop-down list.
  4. Enter your username and password, then click Log In.
  5. Click Domains from the top menu.
  6. Click on the Domain Name that you wish to manage.
    If you only have (1) one domain, you will automatically be routed to its management page.
  7. Under the Domain Name section, click the Activate button in-line with Domain Privacy.
  8. On the pop-up box, review your order and click Pay Now to pay for activate your order, or click Add to Cart, if you wish to go back and continue shopping.

Congratulations! You’ve just enabled your domain name’s Domain PrivacyEnabling is done in real-time. However, your Contact Information may take at least 24 hours before WHOIS databases can hide all your contact details.

Disable Domain Privacy

Here are the steps on how to disable Domain Privacy for your domain:

  1. Visit the Vodien SG or AU website.
  2. Click My Account at the top of the page.
  3. Ensure that Account Manager is selected from the drop-down list.
  4. Enter your username and password, then click Log In.
  5. Click Domains from the top menu.
  6. Click on the Domain Name that you wish to manage.
    If you only have (1) one domain, you will automatically be routed to its management page.
  7. Under the Domain Name section, click on Domain Privacy.
  8. Click Disable, then click Update.

Congratulations! You’ve just disabled your domain name’s Domain PrivacyDisabling is done in real-time, but may take 24 hours before your personal information will be available to the public.
