How to Export and Import Database via phpMyAdmin
There are websites that require database backup especially ones that are/were transferred or migrated from one hosting services to another. This could also help you when you backup or restore certain databases from time to time. Learn how to export and import database through your phpMyAdmin.
Export Database
Step 1. Log in to the cPanel using this link format: http://yourdomain.com/cpanel/
Replace yourdomain.com with the Main Domain Name connected to your hosting.
Step 2. Click phpMyAdmin under Databases panel.
Step 3. Click the database you’d like to export if you have multiple databases.
Step 4. Click Export. To quickly export the database, select Quick and click Go.
For a custom export, select Custom to display all export options.
a. Select the database tables you wish to export or select all.
b. Select Format depending on what time of file you want to save. By default, SQL is chosen.
c. Name the file. We recommend using the same name as your database.
d. Modify the Object creation. If you’re unsure leave it on default.
Step 6. Click Go button to save on your local computer.
Import Database
Step 1. Log in to the cPanel using this link format: http://yourdomain.com/cpanel/
Replace yourdomain.com with the Main Domain Name connected to your hosting.
Step 2. Click phpMyAdmin under Databases panel.
Step 3. Click the database you’d like to use, if you have multiple databases.
Step 4. Click Import. Click Choose File/Browse. Select the SQL file from your computer and click Go button.
