How to Map Your Domain Name with Shopify

Shopify is a cloud-based e-commerce platform that lets you start and manage your business. Since this is cloud-based it gives you the flexibility to access and run your business anywhere with an internet connection.  

Just like other platformsShopify also provides a free domain name i.e. yourshopname.myshopify.com. However, you are still free to connect your Vodien registered domain with your Shopify account. 

If you’ve registered a domain with Vodien, you can easily connect it to your Shopify by doing these two things: 

Step 1. Map You Vodien Domain
Step 2. Update Your DNS Records

Note: This guide will only work for Vodien registered domain using Vodien’s name servers: 
  • ns1.vodien.com
  • ns2.vodien.com
  • ns3.vodien.com

Click this linked guide to check and update your name servers via Vodien account manager before mapping your domain with Shopify. 

Step 1: Map Your Vodien Domain 

Here’s how you can map your domain name on Shopify

Step 1. Log in to your Shopify account.
Step 2. On the left under Sales Channel, click Online Store

Step 3. Click Domains
Step 4. From the Domains page, click Connect existing domain link. 

Step 5. Type your Vodien registered domain under the Domain field and click Next

You will be redirected to Connect existing domain. Under Connecting your domain, click View Instructions. It will then take you to Shopify’s instructions page providing your A and CNAME records. You may then proceed to step 2

Step 2: Update Your DNS Records 

Once you have your DNS records on hand, click this linked guide on how to manage your DNS records via your Vodien account manager or Hosting Manager.
