Internal Domain Transfer: A Simple How-To-Guide
Domain Internal Transfer is the process of moving a domain name from one Vodien account to another. Once the transfer is complete, the receiving account will have full control over the domain, including managing its Domain Name System (DNS) records.
Follow this guide on how to seamlessly transfer your domain name to another Vodien account.
STEP 1: Prepare your Domain Name and Password
- Turn off the Domain Privacy. (For domains subscribed to Domain Privacy service only).
- Unlock the domain name.
- Log in to your Vodien Account Manager.
- Click the Domains Tab.
- If there are several domain names on the account, click on the specific domain.
- Click the Domain Lock in the Domain Name section to bring down the options.
- Tick On to lock, or Off to unlock.
- Click the Update button to save the changes.
- Obtain the Domain Password/EPP Code/Registry Key. See article for the steps on how to obtain the Domain Password/EPP Code/Registry Key.
NOTE. Domains that are newly registered cannot be transferred to a new account. You may contact support for the special process in moving the new domain to another Vodien account.
IMPORTANT. System Lock. When a domain name's registrant information is updated, the domain name will be locked for 60 days. When a domain name is on System Lock period, options to lock or unlock a domain name is not available. This is not applicable to .AU, .NZ, and .UK domains. 60-day ICANN Rule. Most domain names that are governed by ICANN are automatically locked for 60 days from the time it was registered or renewed. Disabling the domain lock during this period may not have an effect to the domain name. This is not applicable to .AU, .NZ, and .UK domains.
STEP 2: Start the transfer
- Log in to your Vodien Account Manager where you want to transfer the domain name to (the gaining account).
- Click Domains from the Product Navigation tabs.
- Select Transfer, and you should be routed to the domain transfer page.
- Enter the Domain Name, then click the Transfer button.
- Enter your Domain Password and click Add.
- Follow the steps and proceed with the Buy Now.
STEP 3: Approval of Transfer
Once your order is submitted, we will process the transfer. Wait for an email to confirm the transfer.
STEP 4: Transfer Accepted
After you receive the confirmation email, please wait as domain transfers may take 5-7 days to complete. We will update you once the transfer is successful.
IMPORTANT. During this process, your website, email, and other services connected to your domain name will not be interrupted and will continue to work as normal.
