Managing Files in Plesk

How to access the File Manager in Plesk

To begin managing your files, you’ll need to open the File Manager in Plesk:

Log in to Plesk.
From the left-hand menu, click Files.

Before making changes, it’s helpful to understand how your files are arranged:

Your primary website files are located in the httpdocs folder.
Each time you add a new domain to your hosting account, a corresponding folder is created in the Home directory.
Files for each domain can be found and should be stored within their specific folder.

How to upload files

Follow these steps to upload files to your hosting account:

Go to your File Manager.
Navigate to the folder where you want to upload your files.
Click the + icon at the top of the page.
Click Upload File.
Choose the file from your computer, then click Open.

IMPORTANT. Only individual files can be uploaded directly. If you need to upload multiple files inside a folder, compress them into a single file first.

How to edit a file

To make changes to an existing file, simply locate the file you want to edit, make changes, and then click Save.

How to add a new folder

To better organize your files, you can create new folders:

Go to the location where you want to add a folder.
Click the + icon.
Click Create Directory.
Enter your preferred folder name.
Click OK to confirm.

How to extract a compressed file

If you’ve uploaded a compressed file (such as a ZIP file), you can extract it directly in Plesk:

Locate the compressed file in your File Manager.
Click on the file.
Select the option to extract its contents.

The files will be unpacked into the current directory for easier access and management.
