Create Under Construction Page for your website

By default, our system automatically creates a placeholder Under Construction page for you at your web address when your account is first created. However, you may create a custom “Under Construction Page”. This can be a simple image or just a text on the home page of your site. For WordPress, you can install Under Construction plugin.

Note: This is only applicable to websites that are hosted with Vodien.

Under Construction Page using PHP script

The PHP scripts in the instructions provided below are basic PHP codes and are not necessarily to be used. You always have the option to use your own PHP codes. You can either use your computer’s notepad and upload the file via FTP or through the cPanel’s File Manager which is used in the instructions below:

Step 1. Log in to the cPanel.

cPanel-Login | FTP password

Step 2. Click on File Manager under Files panel.

Step 3. Select on the directory where the domain name is currently pointing.
(The directory /underconstruction is only an example. Please check your directory folder where the domain name is pointing.)

Step 4. Click “+File” to add a new file.

Step 5. Enter the file name. We recommend to use index.php since this is the file that is mostly used by servers as a default landing page.

Step 6. Click “Create New File”.

Step 7. Right click on the index.php file and select “Code Edit”.

Step 8. Code Editor pop-up will show. Click “Edit”.

Step 9. For simple text, paste in your code and click “Save Changes”.
