How to map your registered Vodien domain with Weebly?

If you are currently using Weebly for your website and wants to use your domain name with it, you need to connect your domain name with Weebly DNS records. Follow the instructions below on how to map your registered Vodien domain with Weebly.

(Note: Domain names and DNS records in the images below are only examples. Replace the information with your actual domain name and DNS records provided by Weebly.)

Connect Domain with Weebly

Step 1. Log in to your Weebly account.

Step 2. Click Settings tab.

Step 3. Under General, locate site address and click “Change” button.

Step 4. Select “Use a Domain You Already Own” and enter your domain name.

Step 5. Click “Continue”.

Step 6. Select   “Connect your Domain” and click “Continue”.

Edit and Add DNS Settings

You are required 3 A records to connect your domain name with Weebly.

Scenario 1: Use Billing Client Area DNS Editor

  • if the domain name is registered with Vodien and is using Vodien’s name servers

Scenario 2. Use Hosting cPanel Zone Editor

  • if the domain name is registered with another registrar and is using Vodien for Hosting only
  • if the domain name is both registered and hosted with Vodien

There are 5 IPv4 addresses you can choose from; however, you only need to use one:

  • 199.34.228.55
  • 199.34.228.56
  • 199.34.228.57
  • 199.34.228.58
  • 199.34.228.59

 

Edit and add A record – Billing Client Area

Step 1. Sign in to the Client Area.

Step 2. Click Domains drop-down menu and select DNS Editor.

Step 3. Select the domain name you want to modify the DNS and click “Edit” button.

Step 4. From the current A record, replace the default A record to the IPv4 address provided by Weebly.

Step 5. Use the same IPv4 address for wildcard subdomain name (*.yourdomain.com).

Step 6. If your www is currently using CNAME record, delete it.

Step 7. Add new A record and enter the following details:

  • Valid zone name – www.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with the actual domain name)
  • Record – IPv4 address provided by Weebly

Step 8. Click “Update”.

Edit and Add DNS settings – Hosting cPanel

Step 1. Log in to the cPanel.

Step 2. Click on Zone Editor under Domains panel.

Step 3. If you have more than one domain name, look for the domain name from the list. Click on “Manage” with the wrench icon.

Step 4. Locate the current A record of your domain name and click Edit.

Step 5. Replace the default IP address to the IPv4 address provided by Weebly and click “Save Record”.

Step 6. Locate the wild card subdomain (*.yourdomain.com) and edit the A record. Use the same IPv4 address provided by Weebly and save the changes.

Step 7. If your www is currently using CNAME record, edit the DNS and select A from the drop-down menu.

Step 8. Enter the IPv4 address provided by Weebly.

 

Step 9. Click “Save Record”.

 

Once the DNS has fully propagated, you need to change your site address to point to your domain name by going back to your Weebly account.
