How to set up Microsoft Exchange in Outlook 2016?

This article is intended for email accounts that are using Microsoft Exchange. However if you want to use IMAP or POP3, you may do so. Please take note that you will not be able to enjoy the Office 365 features with IMAP and POP3 setup. Learn how to set up Microsoft Exchange in Outlook 2016 by following the instructions below.

Set up Microsoft Exchange in Outlook 2016

Outlook 2016 first time user

Step 1. Search and open Outlook.

Step 2. To get started with Outlook 2016, click Next button.

Step 3. You will be asked if you want to add an email account for Microsoft Outlook. Select Yes and click Next.

Step 4. Select either of the following to continue with the setup process:

Outlook additional email account

Step 1. Search and open Outlook.

Step 2. Click File tab.

Step 3. Click + Add Account.

Step 4. Select either of the following to continue with the setup process:

Auto Account Setup

Step 1. Select Email Account for the auto setup.

Step 2. Enter the following information:

Your Name: Your desired name

Email:  Your exchange email address

Password: Your email password (you need to enter the password twice)

Click Next button.

Step 3. Outlook will try to search for your server.

Step 4. Enter your email password and click OK button.

Step 5. The email account is added successfully. Click Finish button.

Step 6. Outlook will load your profile and will ask you to enter your password to log in.

 

Manual configuration

 

Step 1. Choose on Manual setup or additional server types radio button and click on Next button.

Step 2. Select Office 365, enter your Microsoft Exchange email address and click next.

Step 3. Outlook will try to search for your server.

Step 4. Enter your email password and click OK button.

 

Step 5. The email account is added successfully. Click Finish button.

Step 6. A pop-up window will show up notifying you to close your Outlook. Click OK button.

Step 7. Close down your Outlook 2016.

Step 8. Open Outlook again.

Step 9. Outlook will load your profile and will ask you to enter your password to log in.
