How To Add New WordPress Site to WordPress Hosting
If you are now ready to start creating your new website through WordPress, you need to manually add or set up the new website to your WordPress Hosting. Simply follow the instructions provided below:
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click on the WordPress button on the menu bar at the top of the page.
- Scroll down to New WordPress Site drop-down and click it.
- Select which type of domain name you will be using for your website.
- Select from My Account – Choose this option if the domain name is on the same Account Manager where the WordPress hosting is. You can select the domain name from the options on the drop-down.
- Enter a domain or subdomain – Click this if your domain or subdomain is NOT on the same Account Manager where the WordPress Hosting is. You will then need to enter the domain/subdomain in the box provided as shown above.
- Free domain – This is a system–generated link that you can temporarily use if you do not have a registered domain/subdomain yet. You can change this anytime in the future once you already have a registered domain name.
- Select a Data Centre if you are provided with more than one option. The recommended Data Centre – which is the closest to your location – is usually highlighted with a check mark on it.
- Click Create.
The New WordPress Site will be set up in a few minutes. A box with the status of the progress will be displayed as shown in the screenshot below.
Once the status on the box says Active, you may now start editing your website by accessing the WordPress Panel.
NOTE: If the options mentioned above are not available on your Account Manager even after you already purchased a hosting plan, you might have Web Hosting or Business Hosting but not WordPress Hosting.
