How to reset a cPanel password in WHM

Regain access to a cPanel account by setting a new password. If the account cannot be accessed with the current password, you can reset it from the cPanel sign-in page or update it directly from WHM. 

Before you begin 

Make sure the following requirements are met before you begin: 

• You know the username of the cPanel account.  
• The cPanel account has a valid contact email address if you want to use the Reset Password option.  

Reset the password from the cPanel sign-in page 

1. Go to your cPanel sign-in page. This can be accessed through https://<YOUR-SERVER-DOMAIN>:2083/ 
2. Click Reset Password. 
3. Enter the username of the cPanel and click Reset Password. 
4. Enter the contact email address of your cPanel and click on Send Security Code. 
5. In the Security Code text box, enter the security code you received and click Submit. 
6. Enter the new cPanel password and click Set Password. 

Change the password in WHM 

1. Log in to WHM as the root user. 
2. Go to Account Information>List Accounts. 
3. Search for the cPanel account. 
4. On the result, click the + icon on the right. This will give you more options. 
5. Enter the new password in the Change Password text box. 
6. Click Change.
