How To Create WordPress Staging Site

A staging site comes in handy if you are planning to make updates on a website that you don’t want to be live yet. You can apply and prepare those updates on a staging site while keeping the current website up and running.

Follow the instructions below on how to create the staging site on your WordPress hosting:

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click on the WordPress button on the menu bar at the top of the page.

The details under the Staging tab should be similar to the details under the Production tab once the setup is complete. You can now start editing the staging site by accessing the WordPress Panel or logging in to the WordPress admin page.

Once the staging site is ready to be published, you can follow this link to see how to transfer the staging site to production.

NOTE: Use the SSH/SFTP Username and Password under Production tab when logging in directly to WordPress Admin page and make sure the Hostname under Staging tab is used.
